“Advanced technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) are driving what some call the “fourth industrial revolution”. They have the potential to transform industries, raise productivity, efficiency and competitiveness – with a significant social and environmental impact.” EU Commission

“Science education should be an essential component of a learning continuum for all, from pre-school to active engaged citizenship.

Knowledge of and about science are integral to preparing our population to be actively engaged and responsible citizens, creative and innovative, able to work collaboratively and fully aware of and conversant with the complex challenges facing society. It helps us to explain and understand our world, to guide technological development and innovation and to forecast and plan for the future.”Commission, Science Education for Responsible Citizenship 2015
